Vinegar-free and sugar-free, the third member of our flavored sauerkraut family is fermented for a week with locally grown carrots, jalapeño peppers, cumin seeds and oregano. This recipe is inspired by our travels to El Salvador and Belize, where a similar slaw-like condiment called curtido’ is eaten with stuffed flatbreads and tortillas. This Latin American inspired flavor bomb is not only rich in probiotics, but tastes amazing as well. Low in calories, but high in fiber and antioxidants. Fermented at the optimum temperature for best flavor, color and maximum vitamin content (C, B and K). Our Spicy Curtido’ Style Sauerkraut is delicious on its own, hot or cold. Fermentation creates health-beneficial probiotic bacteria, which is very sensitive to heat. To ensure that all probiotics and nutrients survive in the jar, we do not pasteurize any of our products. They should therefore be kept refrigerated before and after opening.
This product is 100% natural, it can be kept refrigerated for approximately 6 months.
