Our Story

How our handmade artisan pickles company started

Nice to meet you, my name is Irine. I am, together with my Swedish husband Anders, more commonly known as The Serial Pickler. We are Thailand’s favorite artisan pickle brand.

The Serial Pickler started out in our tiny one-bedroom condo back in 2012, but since then we have been growing. We are now a small family business, employing four full-time staff, pickling away in a modern FDA-approved production facility.

Our Story

The last few years we have grown quickly and we are proud of what we have accomplished with our little team. We have made a name for ourselves. The Bangkok Post mentioned us as one of the top artisanal eats to try in Bangkok!

We started out as a combination between a pickle shop, café and art gallery. Hence the name The Pickle Gallery. But as demand for our pickles kept growing, unfortunately we had to say goodbye to the café/art gallery side of things (for now). The unique combination of art and pickles did manage to raise a few eyebrows though, landing us on the cover of Time Out Magazine, as well as local publications like Coconuts and Khaosod English. Here’s what Bangkok Foodies had to say about the opening of The Pickle Gallery.

Although the café/art gallery is closed, we still have a factory shop open on weekdays where you can sample and buy all of our products. There you can also return your empty jars (our products only), which we pay back ฿10 each for. You can easily find our location by searching for “The Pickle Gallery”, both on Google maps and Grab.

If you can’t make it to us, we are happy to deliver nationwide, bringing our healthy and delicious artisan pickles straight to your doorstep!

    A Latin American inspired flavor bomb

    Vinegar-free and sugar-free, the third member of our flavored sauerkraut family is fermented for a week with locally grown carrots, jalapeño peppers, cumin seeds and oregano. This recipe is inspired by our travels to El Salvador and Belize, where a similar slaw-like condiment called curtido’ is eaten with stuffed flatbreads and tortillas. This Latin American inspired flavor bomb is not only rich in probiotics, but tastes amazing as well. Low in calories, but high in fiber and antioxidants. Fermented at the optimum temperature for best flavor, color and maximum vitamin content (C, B and K). Our Spicy Curtido’ Style Sauerkraut is delicious on its own, hot or cold. Brings the heat to any BBQ, or perfect as a condiment for Mexican/Latin American inspired meals..

    Fermentation creates health-beneficial probiotic bacteria, which is very sensitive to heat. To ensure that all probiotics and nutrients survive in the jar, we do not pasteurize any of our products. They should therefore be kept refrigerated before and after opening.
